In addition to the initial design, our team is available throughout the building process to incorporate revisions to floor systems, provide solutions to unforeseen framing challenges, and work with professionals on the jobsite to optimize the supply and installation of EWP materials.
Our design team can meet with builders on the jobsite or in our meeting spaces at either Standard Building Supplies location. They are also available by phone or email for quicker questions and correspondence.

No. Our design specialists are trained in the use of proprietary design software which incorporates the relevant local building codes as well as the design criteria of all Trus-Joist EWP products. While our team members are not registered engineers, they can produce detailed performance reports for any EWP member for the project engineer’s review and are happy to communicate directly with project engineers as needed throughout the design and building process.
Our layouts and member reports do not come stamped by a registered engineer and do not take the place of full structural drawings or specialty component design schedules. If specifically required, Standard Building Supplies can source and facilitate these services from a registered engineer for a fee. Costs will be quoted on a per-project basis and discussed with the customer.
Can Standard’s design department help with damaged EWP members once installed?
Yes. Our EWP design department can communicate with builders onsite and conduct site visits as needed to gather information. We then use our design software and work with the manufacturer to analyze damaged members and provide repair details that help avoid removing installed framing whenever possible.
