Finishing Department - Technical Sales Representative

We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Technical Sales Representative to join our Sales Department. The role combines technical expertise with sales skills to support customers, recommend finishing solutions, and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will have experience in finishing processes, strong customer service skills, and the ability to translate technical requirements into effective solutions.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Receive and develop sales leads from the internal sales team
- Conduct on-site visits to assess project scope and quote/sell moulding and finishing packages
- Read and interpret residential house plans and perform accurate finishing takeoffs
- Perform precise on-site measurements for mouldings and finishing products
- Price projects by sourcing and comparing costs from multiple vendors
- Participate in purchasing decisions related to mouldings and finishing products
- Collaborate with operations and inventory teams to support project execution
- Act as a technical resource for moulding and finishing solutions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, installers, and clients
Ideal Profile:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the building supply industry, with a background in finishing
- Extensive knowledge of mouldings, and finishing products is mandatory
- Comfortable working in a mixed environment (on-site, office, and customer-facing)
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
